Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions here at Conversations:

WHAT IS THIS PLACE?

The short answer: Conversations is our community Living Room!

The long answer: In our living room, the art on the walls has been created by local artists and is available for purchase. We have books, new and used, and a variety of gifts that are also for sale. Our gourmet coffee and teas are free and you can choose from a dozen or so flavors. Conversations is an outreach of Transformed By Christ Ministries.

WHAT IS TBC MINISTRIES?

TBC is a non-profit organization that provides counseling and small group ministry, without charge. We are not affiliated with a particular church or denomination.  We counsel individuals, couples and families, from a Christ-centered perspective. Our passion is to help people experience the freedom of living in God’s love, through understanding their true identity in Christ.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

The short answer: 9:30am-5:30pm, Mon.-Thurs. and 10:00am-2:00pm Friday.

The long answer: Conversations is staffed by volunteers.  In time, we hope to stay open later and be open on Saturday, as well. Until then, if the “OPEN” sign is out, come on in! TBC uses the facility after hours for various activities and groups.

IS THIS A COFFEE SHOP?

The short answer: No.

The long answer: We offer free coffee to our guests.  We also have delicious biscotti, chocolates, cold beverages and snacks available for purchase.

WHY IS THE COFFEE FREE?

When we have guests in our ‘living room”, we like to make them feel welcome by offering coffee or tea as a refreshment.

HOW DOES THIS PLACE STAY AFLOAT?

Any profit derived from Conversations is used to support TBC. TBC is also funded through donations from those who benefit from our services, as well as friends of the ministry. No one in need of our services is ever turned away due to a lack of funds.

WHO ARE THE ARTISTS?

Edmond artistes are given priority when we adorn our walls. Our goal is to achieve versatility in our selections and, consequently, we are always on the lookout for up-and-coming artists, unusual media and/or applications. If you are interested in placing your art on consignment at Conversations, contact Tina or Kathy at 844-23224.

WHAT IS “OPEN MIC NIGHT”?

Not only do we offer our walls to showcase local artists, we offer our living space to performing artists, as well. Periodically, we will put out our banner advertising “Open Mic Night”.  Information about this can be found at  www.conversationsok.com.

The community will be invited and refreshments will be available for purchase. If you are interested in performing, contact Tina at 844-2324.

WHAT IS “FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES”?

Periodically, when there is a movie we would like to watch, as a group, we invite others in the community to view it with us. We are a very relational group of folks and we love meeting new friends! Besides looking for the sign we put out, which announces movie night, you can log onto www.Conversationsok.com to learn more about “what and when”.

HOW CAN I BECOME A VOLUNTEER?

By now, you can tell that Conversations is not your everyday bookstore!  We are “an experience in relationships”.  So, if you think you might be interested in volunteering, we invite you to come in and get acquainted or participate in one of our small groups.
